This week I got to thinking about how rare it is for someone to find what they are “called” to do and to find a way to chase it. Regular responsibilities make it so easy to lose who we are and what makes us feel whole, especially when what feeds the soul is something creative. Doubt can cloud judgment and make some things seem frivolous in the grand scheme of things. The older I get, the more I reject that notion. The thing is, if you feel like your truest self and you aren’t hurting anyone, why not do what makes you happy? So these days I’m working towards trying to make things a little more balanced. When we were young we thought anything was possible. We thought we could do anything and we looked at the world with wonder at all the possibilities. From here forward I’d like to surround myself with people and things that make me feel alive. This life can be so short, especially when spent only doing things we don’t really want to do just to fulfill some sort of expectations placed on us by people we don’t have to answer to. Let’s be who we are and be alive.
Music friends: one thing I appreciate about my upbringing is the sheer variety of music I was exposed to. Because of that, my interests are all over the place. the title this week refers to a song called “Godspeed” by the Dixie Chicks off of their album “Home” which you can check out on all the major music platforms.
As always thank you all so much for following and don’t be a stranger! Follow me and say hello Here! Until next week, I wish you all balance and may you find whatever it is that makes you whole and fight for it with all your might.
